I ended up seeing the midnight showing (and dragging along a few unsuspecting friends). Aside from the sheer bloodiness of the film (the parts where I was covering my eyes and peeking through my fingers) and the mediocre singing, Tim Burton did a great job capturing the darkness and the comedy of this musical. Johnny Depp was a great Sweeney Todd. Umm... don't see it if you're not prepared for lots and lots of spurting blood..... 
expecially in the middle of the film...
Oh, but the score, 
the score was absolutely breathtaking!!!!
